Dorris / Cetin,

I am using the very same method that Dorris is using with the same problems. I have just tried Cetin's approach with an append of a 35Mb file with 140,000 records in it and 8 date fields - It worked a treat and was neat and tidy, speed wise it was very similar to the other method.
