>Has anything changed with the way VFP handles dates? For many years we have been running our application and all of a sudden entering date values has become a hassle. What happens is the user will begin typing in a date value in a textbox and maybe the month part and the year part are filled in, but the day may be blank or a day that is not valid for that month. Now, It locks up the program and will not allow them to escape the field until a completely valid date is entered, yet it is very hard to change at this point. The only way I have seen being able to free it up is to double click on the textbox rapidly and hit the spacce bar at the same time. This occasionally removes all the contents of the date field and this then frees up the whole program and allows re-entry into the field, etc. Any ideas what may have changed on us? I tried the strict date format vs. not and it does not seem to have anything to do with that.

If you have SET NOTIFY OFF in your form, the textbox will not let you out without correcting the date, but you will not get any clue about the error.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
