I used that method with good results for many years, Mike, till someone pointed out that keeping the VFP app "alive" while it waits for the timer to fire has a memory cost, and the Windows Scheduler can fire the VFP app at set intervals at no memory cost at all when the app is dormant.
Since then I use the Windows Scheduler.

>>I have done this using a simple all-VFP solution. The form program includes a timer. Every time the timer fires it checks the target directory for target file(s).
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
