I have. At the moment I like PhoneGap a bit better. It's a plugin to Eclipse, rather than its own full IDE. The instructions are very straightforward on how to pull your web app's assets into a project, add the additional files you need, and compile the app. It's free and open source, though now "owned" by Adobe.

Appcelerator covers more devices and has a broader feature set, and its free version is not feature complete. It's also well documented and has tons of support from other devs. It has its own IDE, so it won't use anything that you're already used to.

For many applications you may find you don't need to create a native app at all though. Web apps work fine and look great when used in conjuction with a mobile JS framework like JQuery Mobile (and there are many others).
