In mountains, yes. There'd be a part of a village that's just behind the hill, or on the other side of the valley. In flatlands, however, the houses are grouped together, except for those who live on a salaš, which is a solitary household in the middle of the fields.

And then there are those which confuse hamlet with omlet (omelette).
