What if she had - which she did not? Are you saying that I have no right to leave my accumulated wealth to whomever I see fit? Are you saying that the government has more of a right than I do to decide what I do with the fruits of my labor?

Andy's brother died suddenly a few years back and the woman with whom he had been living for 30 years had a heck of a time dealing with the UK government over her inheritance. Because Andy's brother had handled all of the money (including her income), she had to prove to the government that the money she had earned was rightfully hers and not subject to the death tax. Do you think that is right?

No. The government has no right to conficate the earning of people, whether or not they are still alive.
