We received VFP 6.0 and I am former FPW 2.6 (intermediate level). I requested to my supervisor to send me to appdev training (in Chicago) and the following is her reply to me:

Before I can make a decision about training, I need to know that you've researched VFP and are sure this is the way we need to go in order to develop the systems we'll need.

Will we be able to take data from the files and create Web documents?

Can we have multiple users doing entry and/or look ups in the system at one time?

How easily is it to convert data to Excel spreadsheets?

Can users us other reporting tools to create their own reports form the files (other than programming the reports for them?) (tools such as Crystal Reports).

I'd like to know the advantages of VFP over other products.

I made a mistake few months ago to switch to Access 97. I created one
application with Access 97 and I wished I did not thought of doing that. Now, I want to advance myself to VFP and be with it.

For those who did went to appdev, how was it and do they give out
"workbook" or "textbook" to do samples (I need that).

Feed me with words.
