>Although I am not pleased that there is an effort to take it away, to me it seems like a moot point. I have never been paid overtime as a salaried worker. In fact my guess is that is typical of salaried workers.
But it applies to a lot more than just programmers. All most every system administrator I know is hourly and all of them work over 50hrs a week - heck I have one friend in Las Vegas that's working almost 70 hours a week! If his overtime was taken his take home pay would probably drop in 1/2. Plus I think the government should keep their nose out of it - and don't we have labor laws to keep abuses like this from happening to begin with? If this passes everyone one of us is going to end up working more hours for less pay.
