PS -- The name of the base triggers a very old memory for me. My mother's only sibling, Wayne, was in the Air Force and for a time was stationed at Lackland. She still has a throw pillow he sent her from there. It is embroidered with this: "I'll always remember the happy days flown / Loving you always, sister my own." For him it was probably an impulse purchase at the PX. For her it has always been a treasure, because he died before he was 30.
