>I am still having issues with this and the set notify on/off either way still acts the same way if I enter an invalid date such as 13/15/2011 in the object. Anyone have any others ideas of something I can try that may help?

May be it's not only SET NOTIFY, but another setting, such as SET CONFIRM that affects the behavior. I know it's one of those settings, but I forgot exactly which one.

I also do remember a while back I switched to use my own date class in which I bind to character data instead of the date and used some complex logic to handle bad cases. It's been a while, but I do remember posting the code here.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
