Data is on network, exe is on local machine. All of this is 'new' to me as I've been working here since October, but the app has run, with some hiccups for a while.

This is an app that I inherited that hasn't been touched since 1999, written by someone who was teaching themselves Foxpro as they went.

I was asked to add some data collection and to bring the software up to VFP8 (getting rid of the Locates, File Scans, etc) - this is that new table.

I'll ask about the machines/network and virus scanning - but I'm betting there's nothing they will change for me.

>Oh wow - frustrating I'm sure.
>Where is the data stored? Is it on local machine or on local network somewhere?

>>Yes, this is the first time 20 machines have banged on this file, but I have a history with multi-user/massive data entry applications and this is the first time I've run into this issue with something that is such small-scale - and we were getting the message about 5-10 times a minute. Most frustrating

>>>Is this the first time you ever had 20 machines banging on the file? Even if the corrupted index problem only happens rarely, using views really is huge in eliminating that problem.
>>>You might be able to play around with your anti-virus software - (don't scan network drives and maybe excluded your database files..etc) and get the problem to go away for now - but odds are it will resurface sooner or later - particularly if the number of users increases over time.
>>>
>>>>Actually, this is the first time I've ever had problems with this.
