The MCSD courses you mentioned are outdated and do not prepare you for current testing. Check out www.microsoft.com/mcp. In the US, the average salary for an MCSD is higher than the average salary for an MCSE. However, I agree with Roxanne. It really depends on what you want to do. MCSE is designed for a network person, MCSD for a developer.
