>>Windows Remote Desktop under Windows 7 and against Windows Server 2008 can run any application on the server using a simple hyperlink to start the application from inside a browser. Simply awesome. No re-write of any code at all, everything runs on the server, access via a browser. You need a CAL for each concurrent user but that's cheap and just a once-off payment to MS.

I did not personally test Windows Remote Desktop outside IE browser so not sure. However the 2X Application Server has a thin client for any Java enabled browser plus they have "desktop" thin client apps for Windows, Apple, Linux, Android, iPad. And 2X Application Server runs over Windows Remote Desktop - essentially it is a better user / admin interface to Remote Desktop on the server with multi-platform client support. We have tested 2X thin clients on Apple, iPad, Windows, and Java enabled browsers and they all work very well. I have not personally tested 2X on Linux but I am sure it works just fine.
