I was a bit surprised when I read 'barber's shop' expression in Dmitry's message (I don't think I saw it in US, but may be as usual I was not paying attention), so I searched for the translation of Russian word and found, that for men it will be barber's shop.

The operator/support person upon learning that I am calling from Foxboro, the home of Patriots, started chattering excitedly about the game on Saturday. Then I forgot why I called and she forgot that she had a job to do <g>. Go Pats!

>>UPDATE: Well, maybe there was one just as good -- Wayne Gretzky. He was a pro at 17. He scored 92 goals in a season, which was unimaginable. He wasn't the fastest. He wasn't the strongest. What he seemed to have was a sixth sense of the game. He knew exactly where everyone was at all times. If you gave him even a fraction of an opening it was in the net. He was a thing of beauty to watch, to witness someone who can do anything that well.

I would never want to make a choice like that. Let's just say they were both phenomenal and let it go at that.

I was never fortunate enough to see Gretzky in person. (The closest I came was at an old client, the Alberta Liquor Control Board. The receptionist was his aunt and she had a picture of him at the office on her desk, wearing a brown leather jacket). I saw Orr quite a few times. My dad would take my brother and I down to see both the Bruins and the Celtics once a season. I have been to many sporting events since but the loudest noise I have ever heard was the sound in the old Boston Garden when Orr would take the puck up the ice. It was deafening. Until he came along defensemen just didn't do that. He was a revolutionary.
