Tore,

for me this thread felt a bit out-of-place from the start: re-reading the OP I think it comes from:
"I take the liberty to copy his official message from his/her facebook account:"

Jim did visit the UT very few times himself and even if he is/was known here,
why jump the gun instead of letting her pick the time and message ?

I think my quesy feeling does not stem from the change itself or personal opinions on the matter,
even if I am personally more disposed to see it as a dose of "strange" mixed into the "interesting",
with a bit of wondering how she would have presented some of the "Booth" sessions I enjoyed,
as the well very done presentation was part of it if you remember.

If you contacted Booth before the post and asked for permission -
all clear but that should be clearer in the post as well.
If you did not - even if you knew Jim very well, not ok in my book,
with the advice to tell her ASAP.
Strange way to argue, but is on top of the copy of a private mail -
as females reserve more of the right tp change their minds...

I know that I have not accommodated to Facebook and Twitter in my caveman attitudes ;-)
Offended - personally no.

regards

thomas

>First of all, Janis is a person known to most people here, so I thought that this was the right forum to post the message . Secondly, Janis clearly indicated in her email to me that she wanted "to connect up with old friends again", the last is a direct quote from the email I received from her this morning. And last, who brought in the word "moral" here? It never crossed my mind that anyone could think about moral when we really talk about a person's happiness.
