Hi Naomi

The truth is been using a bought version of UP2D8 with out any issues for many years. My internet hosting company Webmania now renamed Yorhost have just messed up the reregistration of the domain I used, even though I'm fully paid up including hosting for another 2 years. I cant contact them, they do not reply to emails or answer the phone....

Anyway, UP2D8 doesn't seem to work on my new internet host (D9 hosting), they can't help me since I'm on a shared server they say.
I have lost the UP2D8 source code, so can't play with the FTP/HTTP section to see why it isnt working.

I have no money in the budget to buy another year of support for UP2D8, so thought I'd have a go at putting together a simplified version that I'd more control over. Tried some some simple uploading/downloading using FTP, and it all works find on my D9 HOSTING server.

One of the features of UP2D8 is that it will update itself as well as the main program you are updating as part of the update proceedure, so it definately can be done :)

The majority of the users of my applications are remote all over the uk, so network updates aint gonna cut it.

I'm some way to getting my own updater working in FVP9, but since I'll need to set this up on 30 seperate installations I thought it would be important to be albe to update my updater automatically like UPD8 does as needed.

Oh, that feels better, always good to get things off your chest....

Thanks anyway

>There are Launchers in the Downloads section here. The basic principle is that you put new exe in some Network location and the launcher checks if there is a new copy before starting your main application and copies it to the user's local path from the network. You're running your main application through this launcher.
