I don't consider it censorship, I consider it a fair question.

For whatever it's worth, I have known Tuvia for a long time. We lived in the same part of Chicago and were both FoxPro developers, which wasn't a huge community even in the early 1990s. Through a mutual connection I took on a project subcontracting through him. I went to meet him at his house. Tuvia is an orthodox Jew and there is some sort of scroll thing by his front door. I asked him what it meant and he said it basically means Jewish people live here. Who knows how many centuries that goes back. We had lunch at a Kosher restaurant and he explained some of the finer points of "keeping kosher." In our dealings he was without exception professional, knowledgeable, and honorable. There was one minor issue where I wondered how much of the billings were coming to me and how much was staying with him. He gave me the numbers and said I wouldn't use you like that; you go to hell for that. That phrase has always stuck with me.

This has been an emotionally explosive thread from the start. Let's just not get into unnecessary fraternal wars.

>I, for one, don't appreciate people trying to censor other people's posts.

>>Unless Jim asked you to do so, you need to stop and think before you post. The quote from Jim's facebook was to the effect that here my new facebook, if you want to reconnect fine, if not fine. Thus leaving it to the individual to proceed as they wish.
>>
>>You are posting and pushing an agenda that everyone has to cheer this announcement. To not do so, one would either have to not reply or lie.
>>
>>A simple announcement explaining how to locate Jim might have been neutral and acceptable, but I for one do not appreciate having anyone's moral agenda pushed on me with your 'congrats'. Whether or not you think congrats are in order is your business and your opinion, please keep it to yourself.
>>
>>>I will use this opportunity to say congratulations to Jim Booth regarding the biggest change in his/her life. Jim is now officially a woman, and has taken the name of Janis Shirley Booth. I wish Janis Shirley the very best.

>>>I take the liberty to copy his official message from his/her facebook account:

>>>OK so here it is a relatively big day for me. I have been scarse on this Facebook page because I am in a process in my life of finally realizing my true self. I am making some changes. Some of you may think these are big changes and some may may think yeah so... Anyway I have another Facebook profile on which I am very active though most of you may not recognize me on that profile as it is for a woman named Janis Shirley Booth. Janis is me. I have friended this profile with that one so that those of you who wish to can find me there and those of you who don't wish to don't have to. Thanks folks.
