Thanks for your response.
Sure enough, wizstyles.vcx and vct are both in my virtualization folder.

But, shouldn't this whole thing be transparent?

it appears that the VFP app builder modifies these files. But that shouldn't automatically invalidate them.

I've worked around it by restoring a 2004 version of these files. But, I have the feeling that there is a bomb waiting to go off!
