I consider that a huge problem. Now days that's how the cops want to handle pretty much any little problem - and could care less of the social implications.
Police reflect, don't create, the culture.
Here are a couple of thoughts to ponder-
When I was a kid (way back) if you were caught driving after having a few beers, the cop would probably tell to get your butt home and be careful.
Now they put cuffs on you and take you to the station.
That's not the cops' idea. They were forced to do that by legislatures reacting to groups like MADD, etc.
Maybe that's a good idea and maybe it's not, but it has a cost.
They are talking about anti-bullying laws in my community now.
