That'd be the psychiatrists who named it? They really don't know anything else, just notice things happening among the people, giving names to them, and eventually voting to have some of them listed as diseases, so they can sell expensive drugs against those, legally.

At least Emma is a real person, perhaps still alive. I saw her only a couple of times - the place where it happened was our fiercest competition, so we couldn't just get in and talk with staff. The story came from one of the few guys there, who later came to work with us.
