Installation, Setup and Configuration
Hi Rick,
>I use Tarma Installer which can do all these things automatically with a pretty simple setup, but I think Inno does as well.
What is your take on the Tarma installer as a no-brainer replacement for Installshield Express. I still use the base version of Installshield as a minimalist installer for VFP (most of the stuff is now run as virtualized applications via molebox) and the installation processes I run are quite minimalist (no registration of resources of any kind).
I just discovered that the Tarma installer can convert "installshield express" projects. Would that mean that I can change installer software in a couple of hours with no intensive relearning of any kind. Learning Inno was already too much for my basic requirements .
In other words, is the "Tarma Installer" simple enough for the casual user? Did you choose Tarma on some specific Net related requirements. Or is it just the better mouse trap?
I certainly value you expert input a lot:).
