Couldn't agree more. Pistachio is not everyone's favorite flavor. Left-handed is not a sign of the devil (although thought to be at one time). Cats are not the devil incarnate (although thought to be at one time; shortly before they were exterminated in Europe, which was shortly before the number of rats in Europe soared, which was shortly before the The Plague).
Nor should belief be confused with universal fact.
