You are so right there. I graduated from high school in 1975 and did not know a single person who was "out" as anything other than hetero. Maine was maybe a little more buttoned up than some other places but still, not a single person. There was only one black in my high school. We have come a long way.

That was not meant to be a segue but I love this video clip from tonight's news. Reasonable people can disagree about the success of Obama's presidency so far; no one can say he isn't empathetic.

>Personal note: my daughter Came Out (L) a few years ago. She's never been happier. Everyone I know who knows her is delighted for her. What a change in societal attitude, in even one generation. Most of us knew it before she was certain of it, and we just let her take her time to find out for herself. Your courage in finding yourself is still unusual, but at this stage of societal development, I would judge it no more unusual than a young woman coming out was, just two generations ago.

>So enough of this stuff: what are you doing in the software development field these days? I see you're still at WebMD: what technologies do you get to play with?

>>>Couldn't agree more. Pistachio is not everyone's favorite flavor. Left-handed is not a sign of the devil (although thought to be at one time). Cats are not the devil incarnate (although thought to be at one time; shortly before they were exterminated in Europe, which was shortly before the number of rats in Europe soared, which was shortly before the The Plague).

>>>Nor should belief be confused with universal fact.

>>It's great to see that you two guys are still the thinking intellectuals I always remember you as being.
