>>>Couldn't agree more. Pistachio is not everyone's favorite flavor. Left-handed is not a sign of the devil (although thought to be at one time).
>>
>>Funny you should say that. I actually think there's some analogy between society's response to left-handedness and to homosexuality.
>>
>>Both my parents were lefties (well, politically, too, but that's another story). Both experienced society trying to change that orientation. Failure to adapt to right-handedness was seen as a challenge to societal norms. Today, we accept left-handedness as simply another variation.
>>
>>I think we're seeing the same change in attitudes toward homosexuality and other sexual differences, though clearly we're much closer to the beginning of the scale. I suspect our great-grandchildren will wonder what all the fuss was about.

>I am old enough to remember school desks that were entirely designed for right handed writers. You undoubtedly grew up with the same ones. It must have been a pain writing on them if you were left handed.

In grade school, we had actual desks with a place to store our stuff inside. No handedness there. In high school, we mostly had the chairs with arms, but there were a few lefty ones.
