Wait! But there are other possibibities. (Been there just have a hard time to rermember how I got out :)).

Maybe the data you get out of the input control alters the name in such way that windows does not recognizes it anymore. Think of formatting, cut off of last characters to fit into a field etc, Upper lower proper. Things like that.
