>>Is it me, or are more and more online news sources relying on FaceBook and Tweeter as their place to put comments about an article? I have been noticing this more. For example, CBSNews know longer (not sure when happened) has a link to their comments. I, without either accounts, find disturbing that I am asked to join these social media sites just to read what others think about an article.

>Yes, it is. For example, a major Super Bowl ad sponsor decided to annonce their Facebook Fan page link at the end instead of their .com. It is frustrating and I wouldn't be able to think how it's gonna be in one year.

>As is the case, here as well, as recently announced, our News Alert option will be superceeded entirely from the Universal Thread Fan page as well as our Universal Thread Twitter page. The related thread is in the Universal Thread forum in the Universal Thread in general category.

I guess it is a Brave New World.

I recall resisting EMail when it was becoming popular. Now I can't see myself without it. Soon, I may have to get a FaceBook account just so I can communicate with other. Oh well, the times are changing.
