>Because their mom thought she'd make easy money in a real estate market she hadn't a clue about so she bought herself a massive debt.

Yes probably. Of course the dirtbag biz making the loan knew she couldn't afford it and gave her the loan anyway - then bet that she would not make the payments. I do tend to agree with you though on this - I think the ultimate responsibility belongs to the borrower not the lender.

>>Remember the riots in 1992? How did that start? It started because 4 cops were caught beating the crap out of someone, then were acquitted of any wrongdoing during the arrest (as big of a joke as O.J. verdict).

>Yep - Time to go looting, shoplifting, assaulting, and burning and then whine to the gub-mint to rebuild and give em more free stuff.

I don't recall anyone rioting because they didn't get any free stuff from the government - I haven't read anything about protesters protesting because they aren't getting handouts from the government - as matter of fact almost all I've seen is people wanting either jobs or a fair playing field when it comes to taxes. As for the 1992 riots it was spawned by years and years of police abuse and brutality - which is the exact same thing that caused the 1965 riots in the same place...so seeing how the city officials and police dept haven't learned anything from these past events it's obviously just a matter of time before it explodes again into total chaos.
Needless to say I'm 100% for peaceful protests and 100% against a bunch of clowns destroying their own neighborhood. It would be nice if the city would actually address the causes of these matters instead of having the mentality of 'lets beat and intimidate these people'.

>>If this stuff is still happening next summer there will probably be a repeat - you'd think the city officials and police dept would learn because that wasn't the first time that had happened either.
