Brenda,
No, SYS(2015) will still return a 10-character string beginning with an underscore. However, SUBS(SYS(2015), 3, 8) will return a string beginning with a numeric character. After my own experimenting, it looks like about Nov. 18 is when the ZZ****** rolls over to 00******. This problem only concerns those using substrings beginning with the third character of SYS(2015).

>>Check out the October 1998 FoxPro Advisor, tips section. They mention that after November of this year, SYS(2015) will start generating a string that begins with a numeric character - invalid for cursor/table names. They suggest adding a character, such as "c" for cursor, to the beginning of value.

>are you saying that a strict SYS(2015), that now returns a 10 character value based on timestamp, will not return an underscore in the first character? i use 2015 for table names.
