I had the same kind of eye-opening coursework experience in engineering school, but for me it was multivariate calculus. In my class, I think everyone who passed that course graduated, and those who didn't dropped out of the program.

Maybe it's just me, but I found static analysis easy and fun - it's literally "concrete", as opposed to a lot of intermediate math which tends to be quite abstract.

If she hasn't yet hit multivariate calculus/differential equations etc. in her coursework, maybe you could give her a heads-up that her workload is about to step up to another new level :-\
