Hi Thomas,

Fair enough:

3 things that I like about Servoy in no particular order:

-Multi platform (as I require Mac in future) as well as Windows, and perhaps phones eventually
-Desktop and Web apps run same with no/little change - so kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I still require desktop apps not connected to web
-So many VFP people becoming active with product/support, etc. and to me it really seems more natural than other stuff I have looked at.
-Bonus one here, to me MSFT just seems more like the flavor of the day when it comes to programming, as Servoy is single focused on one product.

Initially didn't like - no order:
-More pricy than VFP (no royalty free runtime), and just the fact that VFP is great for what I did.
-Although don't have to know JAVA, in time will suspect that I will have to be more familiar with it.
-requires 3rd party Report Writer

>>Hi Thomas, since I can't speak to Servoy pricing as I am in no way tied to them other than having a paid developers license/renewal - I could perhaps be giving inacurate information out about their pricing and terms - and I didn't think that would be what I should do in an open forumn.
>>
>>But the PM just included the name of my Servoy Sales rep and his contact information. I will provide you his name by PM if you wish. There was nothing else special in the PM, other than my health issue this past year - I fell off a ladder and hurt my shoulder, had surgery, I back to 99.9% of where I was before the fall.
>>
>>I will say this, anyone who has concern(s) or does not understand Servoy pricing should contact the company directly for clarification and discussions about it.
>>
>>
>>>Why PM ?
>>>Ken is supporting it here quite openly -
>>>The reports I have heard have more variation than expected:
>>>from praise over indifference to disappointment,
>>>and no easy to spot correlation with programmer skill,
>>>expectations, habits and so on.
>>>
>>>I will do some basic calisthenics in it soon just to get a better picture.
>>>
