Rox,

I believe that this refers to Microsoft's plan to include a pared down version of SQL Server (called MSDE) as a data engine for Access. This means you'll be able to use JET or MSDE with Access. This will make it much easier to write for the desktop and then upsize. SQL Server 7 will run on Win '95, so it's not much of a leap to create an "embedded" version that would come with Access.

>Now the second article on this page made me do a double take! "Access Users get back-end option" What's the deal with this -> MSDE(M$ Data Engine): a new SQL compatible data engine ?!?! Anybody got any comments or insights on this new beast entering the database arena?
