I originally had Office 2007 32 bit. About a year ago (or less) I installed Office 2010 64 bit. I think Craig's program can not work with Office 2010 64 bit (e.g. it works fine for me, but using the 3rd case in the try/catch scenario).
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
