Java Upgrade. Do I need it?

Thank you for you suggestions. I am thinking that maybe I should uninstalled Oracle Java all together. I think prior to the latest computer I bought I had never seen a message of a Java update; so I suppose it was never preinstalled. And I don't remember ever coming across a case where there was need for it (Java).
