When we right click to go in the Properties of a Web site, there is a tab ASP.NET. In that tab, we can select the ASP.NET version. I had this situation one but I cannot remember how I resolved it. The situation is that 4.0 is available. But, if it is selected, the button to edit the configuration is not enabled. Anyone would know the reason for this?
