Craig,

It's asking to convert the FOXUSER.DBF file, not any of the database files. Changing the FOXUSER file to 5 makes it so that 3 can no longer read it. You can create a VFP5 specific version of the file with a new name and use config.fpw to use it, but that only works if the existing app doesn't use the config.fpw file. It's not an ideal solution though.

You can also use a -c switch.

You can also start VFP5 in another folder where it can have it's own foxuser and then cd to the correct folder.

> Pretty new to VP just getting started. Made a simple program using Visual Foxpro 5.0 that just queries a VP 3.0 database. No data modifications. I run it here at work, testing it with a 3.0 database, no problems. I take it to the clients site, load it up, and it asks if I want to convert resource to 5.0? I most definately don't want to, since everything they are running is in 3.0. Is there a work around for this? I'm just learning 5.0, don't want to spend the time learning 2.6 or 3.0 just for this simple procedure..
