I'm not quite a red-diaper baby. My folks were never communists or even socialists. They and my father's ancestors before them were liberals and activists. My great-grandmother worked for Carrie Chapman Catt and apparently, at one time, the HQ of one of the suffrage groups was in my great-grandparents' home.
As for Snowe, I think the Republican party is "eating its young" by forcing out all the moderates. Used to be New England sent a lot of Republicans to Congress; not so much anymore.
As I'm sure you know, my point was that Snowe's seat moves from solidly R to a good shot at being a D in the next Congress.
