If you launch all your Forms with ShowDialog(), I'd say that you are limiting the user's flexibility to interact with your application. Of course, that wholly depends on how your application is supposed to work, but if there's no reason to limit the number of Forms you have open (as you're doing by only opening Forms modally), then you don't necessarily have to have an MDI application. I prefer to allow the user to put their Forms wherever they want to and an MDI app kind of limits that.
