I use the updated Codebook framework from Flash Creative Management. There is an active forum about this framework at www.leafe.com. There is a Codebook newsletter (6 issues) and a development guide (not up-to-date).

Also you can check out Codebook for Mere Mortals at this site. I think Mere Mortals retained the ability to switch from local to remote views.
