>Since you agreed with me I will agree with you too; to some extent. I think the chant was intended to taunt the other players. But these things do not happen in a vacuum.

>Do you think that it is possible that prior to this incident there was taunting from the other side toward american kids.
Assumes facts not in evidence. But sure, it's "possible" since any non-zero probability event is "possible." Using whatever percentage you want to raise "possible" to "probable" my assumption (yours almost certainly varies) is that was not "probable."

>And maybe these american kids feel that the newcomers to this country show no respect and loyalty to the american flag?
Even if true (that they felt that way rather than that their feelings were accurate) that doesn't excuse their behavior. I've never felt that "They do something wrong means it's OK for me to do something wrong."

>And I bet you that on the side of those who were chanting USA, USA there were americans of mexican descent.
So what. In what way does that excuse the behavior which was "racist" in my view and at least "unsportsmanlike" by putting the best possible spin on it.

>If we start raising every chant (especially since it was just USA) or taunt at a sporting event to the level of "racist", we are being absurd.

Who said anything about raising every chant to that level???????
I'm talking about THIS one. It was not "simply a taunt" (I don't particularly like taunting because it's unsportsmanlike, but that's neither here nor there). It was an ethnic slur (I do equate ethnic slur with racist) and, IMO, clearly intended as such.
