>I need to build a script that will update an existing program as well as the database (SQL Anywhere) in 19 locations. I am going to have to copy existing database to a new location, create a new window service, update existing ini files and install updated vfp program. I have used Inno some but I was wondering if it is capable of doing all the rest of my requirements or if I should use VFP for some of the updating stuff.
Installers are great for getting files onto a system, registering components etc. but they're terrible when you have to script stuff. For that I'd use some other tool (an EXE most likely). It'll be much easier to build with VFP code than whatever limited installer language is available.
