I graduated high school in 1984 and had owned one for a couple of years at that point - wikipedia says it wasn't out till 1986 so that's obviously not right. Anyway it could run assembly and was a pretty neat device at the time. While all my fellow students were clicking away on their programmable TI-55 II calculators in my physics class I had nifty little BASIC programs I made for my PC1600 - made taking the tests a snap.haha
