>>ok...once more for the unwashed. Oral contraceptives do much more than prevent pregnancy. They help regulate/control runaway periods, endometriosis, severe acne, severe PMS. These are all issues that I'm sure Catholic hospitals are dealing with using other and probably more expensive means. And no, it wasn't about contraception the first time many girls are put 'on the pill'. Trust me, at 10 years old sex was the last thing I was concerned (or interested) in - but that should tell you how long (I'm 52 now) oral contraceptives have been used for things other than preventing pregnancy.

The Catholic church has said since the 1960s that it's fine to use the OC for medical reasons. That simply isn't an issue here. Behind all these irrelevancies, all anybody is saying is that if institutions like Georgetown have an openly stated policy about contraception, you need to use the brain that God gave you and not rely on them in this matter. It's a very simple concept. All the other stuff is invented.

>>So no, it's not about contraception - it's about women's reproductive health and the ability for women to control how it's taken care of- and yes, that DOES include when and how many children to have

So go to it- there is no bogeyman trying to stop you, even if you go to Georgetown.

As per previous, the claim that 98% of Catholic women access contraception is an own-goal: if this is true then do women who go to Georgetown suddenly drop 50 IQ points so they can no longer do what everybody else apparently does?
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
