>I have Office 2010 x64 too, and it works fine for me. Perhaps there was an option to install the drivers when I originally installed Office. I don't remember. Try this: Create an empty file with a .UDL extension, double-click on it and look at the Providers tab. You should see Microsoft Office 12.0 Access Database Engine OLE DB Provider. If it's not there, download the drivers from http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=13255.

It is there. What should I do on the Connection tab? This is what it shows (see attached). I try to put xls file name in the Data Source (with the path) and got an error.

I also just re-installed this driver and I am still getting errors.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
