>>but since we're so morally superior we've decided to screw you instead

Yes, but you invented that. If there is moral superiority here, it is the holier-than-thou insistence by some that only their viewpoint is valid and that if old white men won't abandon their own beliefs to comply with the shining truth then they should be bludgeoned into compliance by the illuminati.

I completely agree with Hugo that people can balance the benefits of various employers or universities before they make a choice. If a particular employer or university has a policy that really offends, then don't apply! You want free ham sandwiches for lunch? Maybe Kosher restaurants aren't your best first choice... unless you're willing to give up your expectation. You're a vegetarian? Then don't apply to McDonalds unless you can live with the fact that lentils won't feature highly on the dinner trays. You're offended by smoking? Perhaps Benson and Hedges is not the place for you. Free contraception? Might pay to stay away from the Jesuits in that case. Sheesh, all will have good points and bad points and if contraception really were such an overriding issue, Catholic institutions and universities would be scraping the barrel trying to find takers. Instead they are deluged with applicants. Only the worst sort of meddler insists that it is still broken and therefore needs to be fixed.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
