When I was working in England I had a medical issue that may not have been urgent but needed to be taken care of. I went to the nearest NHS clinic and they took care of it even though I was not a citizen. What was striking was they didn't start out by getting all my insurance information, which is what happens here. They never asked for any. They put my name on the list and before too long a doctor, Indian, saw me and treated the condition. It's a completely different model from what we have in the U.S.
