Ahh! Linux! My favorite OS! (SuSE 5.3 - what a dream!)
You've run into Bill G's "DR DOS" solution. Win98 was modified from Win95 to make SAMBA connections more difficult. There is a registry setting that will overcome your problem and, IF memory serves me correctly, the SAMBA team released an update that also resolves the problem. Search DejaNews to locate the UseNet postings with the particulars, or visit the SAMBA site.
>Thanks - I've got SAMBA installed, but am having some congiguration difficulties with it. From my Windows '98 box, I can see the machine (which is named Duthie) in Net Neighborhood. When I click on the name, I get a password dialog requesting the password for resource \\Duthie\IPC. I have tried all of the passwords that I can think of that correspond to my accounts on the Linux box, but without success.
