You've run into Bill G's "DR DOS" solution. Win98 was modified from Win95 to make SAMBA connections more difficult. There is a registry setting that will overcome your problem and, IF memory serves me correctly, the SAMBA team released an update that also resolves the problem. >Thanks - I've got SAMBA installed, but am having some congiguration difficulties with it. From my Windows '98 box, I can see the machine (which is named Duthie) in Net Neighborhood. When I click on the name, I get a password dialog requesting the password for resource \\Duthie\IPC. I have tried all of the passwords that I can think of that correspond to my accounts on the Linux box, but without success.
