My mother managed to insert an object into an Excel spreadsheet that can't be deleted or resized. She says that she copied and pasted something from Google Translate - and it looks as if, accidentally, not the intended text was copied, but rather, the entire HTML EditBox (or whatever it is called) as an object. The resulting object can't be resized, moved, or deleted; clicking on the borders does nothing, so the object as such can't be selected, only the contents. It IS possible to click inside and type text. Opening the spreadsheet in Excel 2010 shows the same symptoms. Closing Excel and re-opening it doesn't help.
I believe she has already copied everything else to another spreadsheet, but in case it ever happens again, I would still like to know whether anybody knows a less drastic way to deal with such a nuisance.
TIA,
Hilmar.
