i am not very good with file attributes. but you can have the notify and killit files already created when you distribute your app (make them readonly.) then either cahnge the file attribute or maybe adde a line of code. check the attribute or file length to signal your messagebox and QUIT code.

it seems to me that your clients should not be mucking around in your application folder. can not you give them permissions of readonly on your folder. if you have no security then they can delete your exe.
