For everything new, there is always a learning curve. If you have the opportunity to attend classes and benefit from books, then, it's something that will help to move on faster to your objectives. VFP was a database development environment as well as, including natively, a database backend. .NET is only a front end and can, as VFP, use various backends. For that part, yes, it would be, IMHO a little bit more difficult to learn. However, .NET is a very big world. So, yes, I also found it more difficult to learn than VFP. But, we have to remember that when VFP, or the earlier versions, came out, things were much simpler then. Everything is much more complex now in terms of possibilities and how to architect all that.
