I am using another third party for sending emails and use the .NET mail class to send emails. However, the third party email provider requires Port 587 to be set for sending emails. I have set this port in the code but I am unable to connect to the smtp server. I am assuming it is because port 587 is not open on my dedicated server.

587 is not a normally open port. I'd assume it is closed.
You'll need to check with the hosting provider about opening it. They may give you an interface where you can do it, or they may (likely) have to open it manually.
